How to repair your hiking umbrella at home.

Ultralight hiking umbrellas are easily damaged, thin carbon fiber poles are brittle in strong winds.I used a very simple method to repair an umbrella that was damaged on my last hike.

You will need 2 pieces of heat shrink tubing approximately 10cm long, it available on amazon, please make sure there is hot melt adhesive inside. The diameter is less than 8mm. also you need a piece of fiber rod about 20cm long, about as thick as the umbrella skeleton, around 3mm, either carbon fiber or metal is ok.

Use heat shrink tubing and a short rod to join the broken umbrella skeleton together. This is easy, as u can see in picture, just heat the heat shrink tubing with a hairdryer.

Finally, sew the joined umbrella skeleton and cloth together.

We finished a new adventure in Tianshan today. Jus

We finished a new adventure in Tianshan today. Just receive Internet signal now. This expedition reached the peak over 4000m altitude and encountered all kinds of weather along the way😂. We tested the new backpacks and tents in this adventure and we are happy with the new gear, but we think it could be better so we will improve. We also came up with a new tool to protect the sleeping bag from condensation.😉

Even though we took a lot of mountaineering tools this time, we still kept our backpacks at about 10 kilograms (including food for 7 days). This is made possible by a lighter backpack and a lighter Lanshan tent (only 630 grams).

btw, the new pack will be named 'Tianshan'.

2. Medicine for the outdoors
This is a very easy to understand medical book written specifically for outdoor recreation enthusiasts. The author Paul is also a mountaineer. The book provides a lot of practical and reliable advice on almost all the diseases that you may encounter in the wild. After study this book, you will definitely realise that some of people's concepts are wrong.

3. Wilderness ethics
This is a history book that tells us how wilderness ethics and land ethics emerged. It gave me a better understanding of the relationship between people and nature. After reading this book, you will better understand why we do 'some thing' in the wild.
